Nuclear Power

Nuclear power is generated using uranium, which is a metal mined in various parts of the world. The first large-scale nuclear power station opened at Calder Hall in Cumbria, England,in 1956.
Some military ships and submarines have nuclear power plants for engines.

Nuclear power produces around 11% of the world’s energy needs. And produces huge amount from small amounts of fuel, without the pollution you would get from burning fossil fuels.

Advantages:
1. Nuclear power costs about the same as coal, so it is not expensive to make.
2. It does not produce smoke or carbon dioxide, so it does not contribute to the greenhouse effect.
3. It produces huge amounts of energy from small amount of fuel.
4. It produces small amount of waste.
5. Nuclear power is reliable.

Disadvantages:
1. Although not much waste is produced, it is very dangerous. It must be sealed up and buried for many years to allow the radioactivity to die away.
2. Nuclear power is reliable, but a lot of money has to be spent on safety-if it does go wrong, accident can be a major disaster.

However, the advantages are more than the disadvantages.
1. As long as everything can be managed very well why do we have to stop Iran from doing nuclear enrichment?
2. Why may America become the only country in the world having such “deadly nuclear power”?
3. Is this country ready enough to make nuclear power as an option in case of fuel price rising?

so do you thinks TNB should be allow to use nuclues or nuclear as a main "generator" in order for TNB to provide better power supply to all Malaysian?

Nuclear can be used in many ways.It depends on technology that we use and budget that we have.

Hi. oasis.
Actually many conturies are constructing and planning to construct nuclear power plant.
It's because of incresing needs for electricity and nuclear plant can be a good choice compared with other types of power plant.
